I’ve shared a couple of homemade syrups in the past, but this Homemade Apple Cider Syrup is definitely my new favorite! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few years ago, I shared a Homemade Cinnamon Simple Syrup<\/a> that I made specifically to go in a homemade Hot Caramel Apple Spice<\/a> drink that was absolutely delicious!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this year, I wanted to share a Homemade Apple Cider Syrup recipe that doubles as a Homemade Apple Cider Sauce recipe, depending on how long you reduce it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I waited patiently all summer for our local apple orchard to start making their homemade apple cider, and we got our first gallon soon after they made their first batch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I only used a 1\/2 gallon when making our syrup, so we could enjoy drinking the other 1\/2 gallon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And while you only need 1 ingredient (apple cider) to make apple cider syrup or sauce, you can add cinnamon sticks and\/or whole allspice if you’d like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you look closely, you will see little Roger’s hand add two cinnamon sticks to our apple cider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally, I had planned to share a more liquidy apple cider syrup, but I got a little distracted by our sweet baby girl, and it simmered a little longer than I planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But that’s no problem because apple cider sauce is beyond delicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although, to be honest, the term syrup is a little confusing to me, because a simple syrup is more like a liquid, but maple syrup or chocolate syrup is thicker and more like a sauce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, based on the consistency of my reduced apple cider, it is technically a sauce, but would you consider it a syrup or a sauce?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
