This room always takes the most time to decorate, but it’s also the one I look forward to finishing the most!

I love transforming this room for fall and this year I challenged myself to decorate without any fall signs, sayings, or plaques with words.

And let me tell you, it was a challenge!

While I know some people don’t like fall signs with words, I personally don’t have any problem with them or with people decorating with them.

I think decor should be personalized to one’s taste and preference.

I have used signs with words/quotes for years when decorating for all the seasons and holidays, but I really wanted to try more showing vs. telling fall decor.

“Telling decor” examples include signs that say things like “happy fall” or “grateful” (I have both of these and MORE!).

“Showing decor” expresses the season/holiday through things like textures and colors.

To be completely honest, I’m not sure if pumpkins are considered “telling decor” or “showing decor,” but I feel like I did pretty good with this personal challenge.

But again, to be completely clear, I am not at all opposed to decorating with signs/decor that have words on them. I think they are fun and festive, I just wanted to attempt something different this year.

Plus I was worried that you all might be getting tired of seeing the same signs used year after year.

So hopefully you enjoyed seeing something a little different this year!
