I meant to share this little DIY Potted Flowers Candle Holder tutorial earlier in the spring, but blog posts got moved around and somehow this one got pushed back to June (even though I made it in March).

Sadly the large planter is no longer available, but I found 4 alternatives that I hope you will love!

And for those who may be concerned, I’m really good at cleaning up my messes and my husband helps too. These counters were thoroughly cleaned multiple times by both of us after making it.

This beauty is currently sitting on my parent’s front porch and I can’t wait to bring it with us to our new home later this year!

Materials:

Large Planter || Alternative 1 || Alternative 2 || Alternative 3 || Alternative 4

Potting Soil

5-6 White Candytuft Plants

3-4 English Ivy Plants

Large Glass Hurricane – I used a glass vase that was 6×6.5, which doesn’t seem to be a size that is typically made anymore. Here are two alternatives a 6×6 glass vase or a 6×7 glass vase.

Pillar Candle

Tutorial:

1. First, pour potting soil into the base of your large planter.

2. Place the glass hurricane in the center. (You can skip this step, but I like to have it in the center when I add the plants to ensure that there is room for all of the plants.

3. Add the White Candytuft and English Ivy plants around the glass hurricane.

4. Remove the glass hurricane and add additional soil around the plants and in the center (so the glass hurricane vase will sit higher than the plants.)

5. Place the glass hurricane and candle back into the center of the planter.

6. Water and enjoy!
