The first 6 months of baby Roger’s life felt like it moved at a normal, if not a tad bit slow, pace.

Then, around the 7-9 month mark, things started to speed up.

The more independence he gains, the faster time seems to go.

And I know, a baby doesn’t really have independence. But our little one definitely craves it!

He loves to wander around our home from window to window, looking outside at Roger mowing, the deer, or simply the wind blowing the leaves on the trees.

It’s so sweet watching him discover the world for himself, but it also comes with some dangers, especially as he has been learning to walk.

So I scoured the internet for some awesome baby-proofing products, and these three are currently my favorites!

1. Baby Gate

We love this baby gate!

We’ve tried others and didn’t like them and this one works great and is so easy to use.

Plus it comes in multiple sizes so you can choose extensions if you have a wide walkway or staircase.

Our son loves to go over to them, stand up, and shake them.

2. Corner Covers

These corner covers are clear so that you don’t have to try to find exact colors to match your furniture.

This means we only needed one pack of these translucent corner protectors to cover corners that were white, grey, and dark brown.

3. Cabinet Locks

I didn’t want ugly cabinet locks on all of our kitchen doors and drawers, so for a while, I was using rubber bands to keep our son from getting into them.

But that only worked for so long as he would play with them until they came off or completely broke.

I finally upgraded to these magnetic cabinet locks and not only do they work great, but you wouldn’t even know they were there unless you tried to open a cabinet.

It came with 2 magnetic “keys” and we keep them under the upper cabinets in our kitchen (on either end of our kitchen so there is always one within grasp).
