A few weeks ago I shared a tutorial for a Conversation Heart Candle Holder using a balloon (compostable in 6 weeks), and since the conversation hearts that I had sealed didn’t work inside of it, I need to find a way to craft with them.

So I decided to create a DIY Conversation Heart Hurricane Candle Holder using the leftover acrylic sealed conversation hearts.

This was the perfect use for them and since they have a clear coating on them this should protect them from bugs and allow us to decorate with it year after year for Valentine’s Day.

And I had so much fun creating the little colorful pattern on it with the candy hearts!

What’s your favorite way to decorate with conversation hearts?

Materials (click item to shop):

Glass Hurricane

Conversation Hearts

Clear Acrylic Sealer, matte

Hot Glue Gun & Glue

Scissors

Sheer Ribbon

Flameless Candle (I use this flameless candle hack)

Instructions:

1. First, lay all the conversation hearts flat on a tarp or piece of cardboard outside and spray all the sides with clear acrylic sealer. Follow the label’s instructions for drying time.

2. Use a hot glue gun and glue to glue each conversation heart to the glass hurricane. I started from the bottom, went all the way around, and then up layer, by layer.

3. Cut a long piece of ribbon and tie it into a bow around the Conversation Heart Hurricane Candle Holder.

4. Add a flameless candle.
