These DIY Shrinky Dink Fall Magnets and Keychains are the easiest fall DIY project that you can customize.

And I’ve included a free printable so you can make these exact ones too!

I hadn’t crafted with Shrinky Dinks since I was a kid, and after a mini search online, I was so excited to find some Shrinky Dink paper that could be printed on.

I’m not very artistic, and my drawing skills leave a lot to be desired, so printing cute fall images was the best option when it came to making these fall magnets and autumn key chains.

I made sure to leave space on each page for printing, but also so that you (or your kids) can draw your own fall images to be cut and shrunk to make customized magnets and keychains.

Oh, and along with the free fall shrinky dink printables, I’ve also included the Autumn Bucket List as a free printable, too!

Materials:

Shrinky Dink Paper – comes with a hole punch

Printer – any inkjet printer should work

Precision Scissors

E6000 Glue – low odor

Baking Sheet

Parchment Paper

Metal Spatula

Small Magnets

Keychains

Instructions:

1. First, preheat your oven according to the Shrinky Dink instructions.

2. Draw fall images on your shrinky dink paper or use my free printable (found below the instructions) to print fall images onto your shrinky dink paper (make sure you print it on the frosty side – do not print it on the glossy side).

3. Next, use the scissors to cut out the fall shapes on the Shrinky Dink paper.
Note: If you are making keychains, use the hole punch to punch a hole into each Shrinky Dink cutout.

4. Place the cut-out Shrinky Dinks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

5. Bake according to the Shrinky Dink instructions. Mine took 2-3 minutes. Once the middle looked shrunk, I took them out.

6. Use a metal spatula to press down on each shrinky dink to help flatten it.
Note: I did this while they were still in the oven and warm; once they cool, the plastic hardens, and they are no longer pliable to flatten. Another option is to bake them in small batches so that when you pull them out of the oven, you have time to flatten them before they cool.

7. Once cool, flip the fall shapes over to the glossy side, add a drop of E6000 glue to each Shrinky Dink, and press a small magnet to the glue. Let dry. And add the keychains to the holes for the keychain Shrinky Dinks.

8. Enjoy your new Shrinky Dink Fall Magnets and Keychains!
