Thanks for the recipe, I’ve tried others and the textures just weren’t right. (I can also confirm that they’re still pretty tasty if you don’t separate the eggs and whip the whites–the second time I made them I didn’t realize we were out of eggs and had to use a flax egg, and it still turned out good.)

Turned out wonderful. Thank you for all the trial and error.

Comment on DIY Clay Napkin Heart Trinket Dish by Giustina Miller https://domesticallyblissful.com/diy-clay-napkin-heart-trinket-dish/#comment-18696 Thu, 29 Jan 2026 04:10:49 +0000 https://domesticallyblissful.com/?p=107286#comment-18696 In reply to Dawn.

For a bridal shower, I may recommend sealing them with Mod Podge or a sealant spray instead of resin, as resin can be a little harder to work with (especially if there is any kind of natural light) for those who are new to it. A spray sealant would dry faster like this spray one (affiliate link). I used a spray sealant on clay in this tutorial: https://domesticallyblissful.com/diy-clay-christmas-tree/
I hope that helps! 🙂

If I made the clay hearts ahead of time, could I have guests at a 2-3 hour bridal shower decorate their heart when they first arrive and mid-way through have them “seal” their hearts….and have them dry before they leave?

Hi Jean, I’d love to help. Did you use plastic plastic wrap around the cone? Another possible problem could be not enough glue before wrapping the yarn. I hope that helps 🙂
