These Star Cinnamon Rolls are a super easy last-minute 4th of July breakfast, brunch, or dessert treat!
In hindsight, I probably should have spread the icing a little better so that each of the 5 points on the star looked more shapely.
But honestly, I’m not sure if it mattered too much to my 2-year-old what they looked like, he just wanted to eat them. And well, so did I!
I couldn’t decide on what red, white, and blue sugar sprinkles I wanted to use, so I ended up choosing a variety, including gold stars, to top these Star Cinnamon Rolls.
And if you love these sprinkles, I have 2 more Independence Day-inspired sweet treats using the same sprinkles!

Star Cinnamon Rolls
These Star Cinnamon Rolls are an easy way to turn store-bought cinnamon rolls into a fun family 4th of July tradition.
Ingredients
- Cinnamon Rolls (we got ours from Trader Joe’s)
- Baking Sheet
- Parchment Paper
- Icing (you can use the packet that comes with it or mix powdered sugar and French vanilla creamer to the desired texture)
- Gold Star Sprinkles
- White Sugar Pearls*
- Red, White, & Blue Sugar Pearls
- Red & Blue Sanding Sugar
- White Sanding Sugar
Instructions
- First, preheat your oven to the temperature it says on the packaging of your cinnamon rolls, and then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Open your cinnamon rolls, place the icing to the side, and pull out all of the cinnamon rolls.
- Open up one of the cinnamon rolls, unwind it, and reshape it into a star shape on the parchment paper.
- Squish each point of the star with your fingers so that while it bakes it doesn’t spread apart too far and will keep its star shape.
- Repeat steps 3 & 4 with all of the cinnamon rolls.
- Bake the cinnamon rolls according to their packaging instructions.
- Once baked, let cool slightly, then add your icing and sprinkles.
- Enjoy!
Notes
- I used both the red, white, and blue sugar pearls that come mixed together along with the larger white sugar pearls.
- It’s important to squish the cinnamon rolls together before baking so that they keep their shape while baking
