These Iced Raisin Bran Cookies are the perfect holiday cookie recipe with its chewy center, crisp edges, sweet cinnamon flavor, & snowy icing.

These Iced Raisin Bran Cookies may just be some of the best cookies I have made in a long time!
And I’m totally not alone when it comes to my love for these cookies.
Now that we are (temporarily) living with my parents while our house is in the last few months of being built I have a lot of taste testers to critique my cooking & baking.
I wanted to make sure this frosted holiday cookie recipe was some of my best work so I did some recipe development & along with Roger (my regular taste tester) I also had my mother, father, & sister try them too.
And guess what? They all LOVED them!
My mom, who doesn’t like raisins (especially baked/cooked raisins) couldn’t stop eating these Iced Raisin Bran Cookies!
I used my go-to cookie recipe & tweaked it just a bit to incorporate Kellogg’s Raisin Bran® cereal.
And the result was beyond anything I could have ever imaged.
They look, smell, & taste amazing!! I’m telling you, your whole family (from kids to grandparents) will love these cookies!

Since each batch of Iced Raisin Bran Cookies makes about 30 cookies I decided to take half a dozen up to my in-laws to spread some of the holiday cookie love.
Not only did they both enjoy them, but I also just received a text message from my sister-in-law who said: “I LOVE those cookies you gave to mom & dad…delicious!!!!”
These Iced Raisin Bran Cookies are best fresh, but she had tried them 2 days after I baked them & she still loved them.
Now that I’ve made them a couple of times I’m thinking these Iced Raisin Bran Cookies are going to be a new holiday tradition in our home!
And I’m hoping that once you try them they will become a new family holiday tradition in your home too!
Since I have a feeling I’ll be making these again & again this holiday season I picked up a “bulk” sized Kellogg’s Raisin Bran® at Sam’s Club so that I’d be prepared for any last-minute holiday baking.

I had so much fun creating these Iced Raisin Bran Cookies & since everyone loved the sweet cinnamon taste & chewy texture I’m thinking I may want to start experimenting with Kellogg’s Raisin Bran® more often.
Raisin Bran® is just so versatile & can be used to create so many delicious creations for any occasion.
Maybe I’ll try to create a muffin or biscuit recipe with Kellogg’s Raisin Bran® next.
Because let’s face it, there are so many more options for cereal beyond a bowl with milk & a spoon for breakfast.
The creative cereal possibilities are endless & I can’t wait to start working on my next cereal recipe creation.
But first, I hope you enjoy these Iced Raisin Bran Cookies with your friends & family this holiday season!

Iced Raisin Bran Cookies
These Iced Raisin Bran Cookies are the perfect holiday cookie recipe with its chewy center, crisp edges, sweet cinnamon flavor, & snowy icing.
Ingredients
Raisin Bran Cookies Ingredients
- 2 & 1/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 3 Teaspoons Cornstarch
- 2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Salted Butter, room temperature
- ½ Cup White Sugar
- 1 Cup Packed Dark Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs, room temperature
- 1 Egg Yolk, room temperature
- 1 & ½ Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 & ½ Cups Raisin Bran®
- 1/2 Cup Raisins
Icing Ingredients
- 1 & 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 3 Tablespoon Half & Half, or milk
Instructions
- Sift the 2 & 1/4 cups all purpose flour, 3 teaspoons cornstarch, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon baking powder, & 1 teaspoon salt into a bowl.
- In a separate bowl use a hand mixer to blend the butter, slowly adding in the white sugar & then the brown sugar to make a nice thick cream.
- Next, add one egg at a time, including the yoke, blending until combined between each addition.
- Then blend in the vanilla extract.
- By hand, stir in the dry ingredients just until combined, but don’t over mix.
- Then fold in the 2 ½ cups Raisin Bran® & 1/2 cups raisins.
- Use a cookie/ice cream scoop to measure the cookie dough for uniform cookies *(1) & bake at 350° Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes. Your Raisin Bran Cookies are done when they begin to turn golden brown. *(2)
- While the Raisin Bran Cookies are baking whisk together the 1 & 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, & 3 tablespoons half & half. Set to the side.
- Let your Raisin Bran Cookies cool then add a little bit of icing to each cookie. *(3)
- Once the icing has hardened, enjoy!
Notes
- I shape my cookies to look more like a cone than a perfectly round ball so that it bakes into a thick cookie rather than spreading out & becoming a flat cookie.
- They will still be hot when you pull them out of the oven & will continue to bake on the inside so make sure not to over bake them!
- To get the snowy look I dip the top of the cookie in the icing rather than drizzling/spreading it on top.

Thank you for the recipe. It is super delicious. I made it with light brown sugar and the Kellogs’ Raisin Bran Crunch. The crunchies make the cookies soft as well as give them that surprising little crunch.
Hi Madeleine,
Thanks for your message! I’m so happy you enjoyed your cookies! They are one of my favorites!!
And the crunchies sound like a delicious addition too! I will have to try it sometime. And I’m going to pass your note on to my mother-in-law who LOVES this recipe as much as I do!
