These Maple Pecan Cookies are a chewy maple cookie filled with chopped pecans and topped with a maple cream cheese frosting.

These Maple Pecan Cookies are going to be one of your new favorite fall desserts!
Normally I’m all about the pumpkin cookie recipes, but I decided to switch it up and share a maple recipe with you all this season.
And I’m so glad I did because these maple cookies are filled with nutty goodness, and I’m not even a fan of nuts in desserts!
Usually, I pick the nuts out of desserts, but these pecan cookies with maple frosting are the perfect combination of sweet and salty.
Originally I considered just making plain maple pecan cookies, but as I was recipe developing I thought they would look so much cuter with a homemade maple cream cheese frosting on top.
The sprinkle of chopped pecans on the frosting is like the cherry on top of an ice cream sunday.
Now I can’t imagine these cookies without their delicious and decorative topping.
And I have a feeling you are going to love these cookies as much as we do!

I made these cookies back in the spring and it was way more than just the two of us could eat, so I shared some with our parents, and I even froze some too!
Yep, I froze already baked cookies so that we could pull them out, let them defrost, and enjoy them whenever we wanted them!
While I highly recommend eating them when they are fresh, this is a great method for saving extras for later.
Although if you love the flavor combination of pecan and maple you may not have any leftovers because these cookies are soft, chewy, and covered bottom to top with delicious fall flavors!

- While your cookies are baking blend the 4 tablespoons butter and 4 ounces cream cheese in a small mixing bowl. Then add the 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time. Finally, blend in the 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 & 1/2 teaspoons maple extract. Set to the side.
- Your Maple Pecan Cookies are done when they begin to turn golden brown. *(2)

Notes
- Chilling the cookie dough can help prevent the dough from spreading too much when baking.
- They will still be hot when you pull them out of the oven and will continue to bake on the inside so make sure not to over bake them!

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
