Instructions

  1. First, melt 16 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet. Then add the 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon black pepper.
  2. At medium heat, whisk in the 1-quart heavy cream. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes, whisking continuously.
  3. Turn the heat to low and whisk in the 2 packed cups of grated parmesan and 1/4 cup of cream cheese in chunks. Continue whisking continuously.
  4. Then whisk in the 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and add salt and pepper to taste
  5. Turn the heat up to medium while continuing to whisk. Once bubbling (not boiling), remove from heat, pour over pasta, top with garnish, and enjoy!

Notes

  1. The quality and type of parmesan you use for your sauce will affect the taste. High-quality parmesan that you grate yourself will give this alfredo the best flavor.
