And if you want to make it extra tasty you could even add a jam or preserve to the center, like raspberry or orange.

The gingerbread men and women cookie cutters that I found come in 3 sizes so you can make a whole family of them to enjoy with your family!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. First, defrost the puff pastry according to the packaging instructions.
  2. Preheat your oven according to the packaging instructions and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Lay both sheets of puff pastry on a clean counter and lightly roll them out, making sure they are the same size.
  4. Then spread Nutella on top of one sheet of puff pastry. *(1)
  5. Lay the second sheet of puff pastry on top of the Nutella puff pastry.
  6. Then use your gingerbread people cookie cutters to cut as many puff pastry gingerbread people as possible.
  7. Place the gingerbread people on one baking sheet and the little gingerbread people along with the excess puff pastry on a second baking sheet.
  8. Beat one egg, and use a pastry brush to brush the egg wash on each gingerbread person and on the excess puff pastry.
  9. Bake the puff pastry gingerbread people and the excess puff pastry according to the puff pastry baking instructions. *(2-3)
  10. Remove the Nutella Puff Pastry Gingerbread People from the oven, let cool slightly, and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
  11. Enjoy!

Notes

  1. The amount will vary based on the size of the puff pastry and if you prefer more or less Nutella.
  2. We baked ours at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for ~15 minutes until golden.
  3. I baked the gingerbread people on the middle rack and the smaller gingerbread people and excess puff pastry below it, once the larger gingerbread people were done, I removed them from the oven and moved the excess up to the middle rack to finish baking/become golden.
