Finding the right headboard seems so easy but often turns out to be more difficult than expected.
When we first started looking for headboards for our master bedroom, I decided to plan all other furniture around the headboard.
We were basically starting from scratch with bedroom decor because the only bedroom furniture we had had for the first 5-6 years of our marriage was a storage bed.
And when we sold our house, we decided to sell the storage bed and put the money towards furnishing our bedroom.
As I began looking at headboards, I came up with a list of must’s that we wanted in a headboard.
The first being that it was upholstered, our last headboard had been wood, and I can’t tell you how many times we accidentally hit our head on the back of it at night. Second, I wanted it to be a neutral color.
Finally, we were looking for a headboard that went below the mattress (at least a little bit) so that things wouldn’t fall between the mattress and wall as easily. So with that, I set off looking for a new headboard for our master bedroom!
