I’m in the process of using up leftover/excess craft supplies from over the years.
I recently realized that at various times over the last several years, I had made 3 online purchases of craft beads.
And while I have created 2 or 3 different bead tutorials over the years, I still have a pretty large stash of wood beads in our home.
So I decided to create a little wood bead vase with them that can be used for flowers or for a battery-operated candle.
Now I need to come up with a new project for all of my smallest wood beads.
What’s your favorite craft or decor hack using wood beads?

Materials: (click items below to shop)
Wood Beads – I used 54 beads that were 16mm and 54 beads that were 20 mm beads
Wood Skewers – I used 18
Wood Embroidery Hoop, just the inside hoop – mine was 4 inches

1. First, place a bead on one of the wooden skewers and place a dot of hot glue on the inside of the wooden hoop quickly placing the wooden skewer on top. Hold in place until the glue has hardened. Be sure that the pointed side is up and the flat/bottom side is level with the base of the hoop.
2. Repeat this process around the inside of the whole base, rotating between the big and small beads.
3. Next, start layering on the beads (rotating big and small on each skewer) until you reach the desired height for your vase.
4. Use pliers to cut the top of the skewers off, leaving enough space on the skewer above the top bead for one last bead.
5. Add a dot of hot glue to the top of a skewer and place the final wood bead on top. Repeat this process around the whole vase.
6. Finally, add a dot of hot glue between each top bead to adhere them to each other.
7. Place a small jar of water in the center and add some fresh flowers.
Enjoy!

I’m not sure I understand “embroidery hoop,” the wooden circle does not appear to have that metal “clamp” it just looks like a wooden circle. Please explain what you used
I used the inside of the embroidery hoop, the part without the clamp 🙂
Is there a bottom to this?
I made it without a base but you can add a small piece of wood or cut out a piece of cardboard for the base 🙂
