These Chocolate Dipped Pineberry Hearts and strawberries on skewers are perfect for a girl's night, a wedding shower, Valentine's Day, or anytime you want a special dark chocolate-dipped treat.

The moment I saw these pineberries, I couldn’t wait to create something extra fun and special for the Valentine’s season.

And these Chocolate Dipped Pineberry Hearts were the perfect sweet treat that was as cute as they were yummy to eat.

Right before making them, I decided to also create traditional strawberry chocolate dipped hearts as well.

But it is important to note that you will want fresh firm strawberries and pineberries when creating these chocolate-dipped berry hearts.

The strawberries were really fresh so they stayed on the skewers well, but I bought the pineberries several days before the strawberries so they were a bit softer which made it harder for some of them to stay on the skewer when dipping them in the chocolate.

You could use shorter skewers and place these on a charcuterie board or in charcuterie cups or even make a ton of these with the long skewers, place them in a vase, and display them like a fruit bouquet.

However you enjoy them this Valentine’s Day, they are sure to be a special treat and a conversation starter at your party!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. First, melt the chocolate according to the packaging instructions.
  2. Next, cut all of the strawberries and pineberries in half, from top to bottom (cutting the stem in half).
  3. Then cut a triangle out of the top, of each strawberry and pineberry, removing the stem, and creating a heart shape out of the strawberry halves.
  4. Place a skewer at the bottom of each berry heart and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Dip the top, side, or whole berry heart into the chocolate.
  6. Remove the excess chocolate by gently shaking it, tapping it on the side of the bowl of chocolate, or with a spoon.
  7. Place your chocolate-dipped berry heart on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Repeat the above 3 steps for all of the strawberries and pineberries.
  9. Let them harden and enjoy!
