DIY He is Risen Napkin Kitchen Towel

This DIY He is Risen Kitchen Towel is made with a napkin to create a beautiful Easter hand towel to enjoy this spring in your kitchen.

These DIY He is Risen Napkin Kitchen Towels took a good 3 to 4 tries before I got them right, and I learned a lot along the way about how to do it wrong and eventually how to do it right.

I have quite a few of these napkins left from last year and wanted to find just the right project for them, and turning them into kitchen hand towels seemed like the perfect little project!

You can make them for yourself or gift them as hostess gifts this spring and Easter.

It’s such an easy craft and a beautiful way to display the true meaning of the Easter season!

While a lot of Christian Easter decor focuses on the cross, we personally prefer to celebrate His resurrection and that Christ lives now to make intercession for us!

We humbly remember His self-sacrifice for us on Friday.

On Saturday, we reflect on how even in the grave, Christ honored the gift given to us during the week of creation (Genesis 2:2-3) and the only commandment that we were asked to remember (Exodus 20:8-11 & Deuteronomy 5:12-15). Jesus, even in death, rested on the Sabbath.

And we celebrate His resurrection and our hope in Him on Sunday.

And while I plan on them simply being the pretty kitchen hand towel that’s just for decoration and not used (you know, the one that husbands and kids always try to use that are off limits), I knew some people would ask if they can be washed.

So since I made more than one, I decided to wash one of them and find out.

I put it in a mesh bag, washed and dried it, and it held up!

It looks wrinkly and needs to be ironed (I’ll use a piece of parchment on the napkin part), but otherwise, it looks great (just a teeny tiny spot where it looks like it could peel).

So if you want to wash it, I’d recommend hand washing only and keeping it as a decorative kitchen towel meant for looks, not daily use.

Materials:

He is Risen Napkins

Sandwich Bag

Kitchen Towels

Parchment Paper

Small Iron

Instructions:

1. First, open up the napkin and remove all of the inner layers of the napkin.

2. Cut out one square and around the “He is Risen” wreath.

3. Next, cut off the zipper portion of a plastic sandwich bag.

4. Then place the circular “He is Risen” wreath napkin inside the plastic sandwich bag.

5. Cut off the corners of the sandwich bag, leaving 1/4-1/2 inch of plastic all around the napkin.

6. Place the napkin sandwich bag on your kitchen towel and a piece of parchment paper on top of it.

7. Iron the parchment-covered napkin sandwich bag (I used heat setting 6) until the plastic has fully melted into the kitchen towel.
Note: I had a window open nearby to avoid a melting plastic smell.

8. Remove the parchment paper and enjoy your new DIY He is Risen Napkin Kitchen Towel!

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
